Live dubs, illbient, breakbeats
Live dubs 98-00
Released in 2025
This release contains live dubs of Rope, a Berlin-based project active from 1996 into the early 2000s. Rope released two albums on Alec Empire’s Geist Records (1999 + 2000), which you can find on https://rope.bandcamp.com
Rope were bridging gaps between song writing, analog-electronic beats, noise, glitch, jazz, illbient, dub and sometimes involving avantgarde-typical ambient and electro-acoustic approaches during their often self-remixing half-improvisations -> “standup track writing”.
Recordings compiled here originate from four different live occasions (see below) and were found on a bulk of archived live DAT tapes in autumn 2025.
